Specialised sensor packages / environmental suites

The Midas 400 electronic architecture allows easy interface of multiple sensors into bespoke underwater housings. Our multi-parameter instruments can be supplied with almost any combination of additional sensors. We offer a variety of our own sensors and those from other well known manufacturers. All data is presented in fully calibrated format using the operator’s choice of engineering units.

All sensors are sampled simultaneously, not in sequence. This helps to create better, more consistent profile data. Intelligent sampling scenarios are possible, where data will only be collected if the output from any chosen sensor falls within set levels. Military AUV requirements are competent to benefit from our commercial off the shelf (COTS) technology where a combination of sensors are combined into a small and lightweight package, whilst still being rugged enough to endure the tough working environments and meeting military standards.

Typical of this is the UV-SVP which offers accurate Sound Velocity, Temperature, Depth along with computed Salinity and Density in a compact and lightweight titanium housing for 3000m operation.  Another package option is our Altimeter, Temperature and an Optical sensor such as a Fluorometer. This moulded sensor arrangement is ideal for smaller AUV design requirements. As manufacturers, our design and production capability can be suited to engineer your monitoring requirements.
