Introduction:

The U.S. Army has awarded Lockheed Martin a $756 million contract to enhance the nation’s ground-based hypersonic weapon system, known as the Long Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW).

Features:

Under this new contract, Lockheed Martin will supply additional LRHW battery equipment, systems and software engineering support, as well as logistics solutions for the Army.

The LRHW is set to introduce a new class of ultrafast and maneuverable long-range hypersonic missiles capable of launching from ground-mobile platforms. The system is designed to deploy the common hypersonic All Up Round (AUR), which is part of the U.S. Navy's Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) program. The LRHW weapon system includes the Army's specific canister, a battery operations center, and transporter erector launchers.

For over 60 years, Lockheed Martin has been at the forefront of advanced hypersonic technology, aligning with their 21st Century Security® vision to support their customers.
