Scantex Enhanced Spall liner

Scanfiber has developed and manufactured Scantex Enhanced Spall liner armour to enhance the level of protection against spall resulting from a Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) or a powerful Improvised explosive device (IED). Not even the thick armor of a main battle tank can withstand the direct hit by an RPG and standard spall liners are often insufficient in reducing the amount of spall being released from the main amour to satisfactory levels.

We have developed a spall liner concept combining both a rigid and a flexible Scantex spall liners. Number of penetrations of the inner spall liner is reduced of more than 50% and has resulted in a significant reduction of the angle in which the spall is shot into the cabin.
